(Dream(Dream))

Hidden under the ocean lies a grain of golden sand.
There maybe a grain of truth to the similarity of irreality of a dream state of mind and the process of losing the existing and valuable handful of sand to the homogeneity of other particles of sand that is then covered and mixed in a method of shuffling by the waves.
The poem works on two levels - missing and grieving reality, and having nothing to base one's sense of reality on so what is there to miss and well  - even that is going to go - 'to the deep'.

The ethereal and ephemeral  dreamstate forms the cause of the worry as everything from it disappears and soon vanishes from the mind...
I am reminded yet again of the various levels of consciousnesses of which Gurdjieff spoke of. Leary also had a multilevel system of consciousness.
