So passes our nobility

Machiavelli advises the noble princes to take up the study of warfare. Is this to defend their domains or to advance their power ? A third option is that such warfare is turned against the nobility itself, Machiavelli shows that the purpose for power lead by princes is to drive itself to death.

Nietzsche seems to propose a similar subtle drive against the nobility in advising that the nobility not engage in a will to live but in their will to power they should live a life of risk.

Sun Tzu demilitarises the princes, claiming that they should forgo warfare and practicing the highest form of war, that is war without warfare.
